New Delhi: Coronavirus, which caused havoc in India and around the world in 2020-21, is on the rise once again. India has reported over 1,000 suspected cases of Covid in the past few days. Of the total number of cases reported, 752 cases have been confirmed by the health department.
Kerala reports highest active Covid cases
Kerala has reported the highest number of active Covid cases in the country. The southern Indian state reportedly has 430 active cases as of now. Next in line is Maharashtra, where 209 cases have been reported and in Delhi, there are 104 cases. Karnataka has reported 47 suspected cases of Coronavirus till now. West Bengal reported 11 cases of Covid.
If some states have reported a rise in Coronavirus cases, there are other states, which have no active cases as of now. These include, Andaman and Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
There have also been several deaths in the country, due to the disease. While Maharashtra has recorded 4 deaths due to Covid, Kerala has seen 2 deaths. In Karnataka, 1 person has died due to the deadly disease.
Hospitals prepare for health emergency
Hospitals across India are preparing to tackle the disease, if the number of cases rise. All state government’s have instructed their health departments to monitor and report any suspected cases of Covid.
Hospitals are also carrying out Coronavirus tests, on suspected patients, if they see symptoms. India had earlier fought off the disease with strict lockdowns and also carried out free vaccination for the people.
