IMD Weather Forecast: Widespread to moderate rainfall likely in Maharashtra, Gujarat

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread widespread light to moderate rainfall in parts of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Konkan, and Goa in the next two days. Several areas of Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, and Mizoram are likely to witness heavy to hefty rainfall from October 2 to October 4, even as parts of Assam and Meghalaya may witness similar weather conditions on October 2 and October 3. In the coming days, parts of central India may witness scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall and isolated to Scattered light to moderate rainfall for the next few days.

While several areas of Tamil Nadu may witness isolated heavy rainfall till September 30, a few areas of Karnataka may witness the same weather conditions on the 29th, Rayalaseema on October 2, Coastal Karnataka on September 29, and Lakshadweep on September 30. Kerala and Maharashtra may also experience similar weather conditions till October 2. The rest of the region may witness scattered to Fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall during the week.

Heavy rains were witnessed in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar Sikkim, and West Bengal

Earlier on September 28, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Sikkim witnessed heavy to hefty rainfall. The same was also witnessed in isolated places of Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, and Maharashtra.
