Honda Recalls Additional 2,204 Units Over Fuel Pump Issue

New Delhi: Honda has announced a recall of additional 2,204 vehicles across various models regarding fuel pump replacement. This recall was originally affected on 90,468 cars, now totalling 92,672 units. It has been identified that certain fuel pumps in these affected models may have defective impellers causing the engine to stop or not start. The faulty fuel pumps will be replaced, starting November 2024.

Honda Recall: Earlier Recall

In the initial recall, Honda aimed to replace fuel pumps in models manufactured between September 2017 and June 2018. This earlier campaign primarily affected units like the Amaze, with around 18,851 compact sedans from that period, and 32,872 units of the City model. Other models, including the Jazz, BR-V, Brio, and WR-V, which have since been discontinued in the Indian market, were also covered in this voluntary recall campaign.

This fuel pump issue is not unique to India and Honda has conducted similar recalls in other regions to address this defect. Honda customers who suspect their vehicle may be affected can contact the authorised Honda dealerships for more information or visit Honda’s official website to check their vehicle’s eligibility.
