Gujarat reports 2 Coronavirus deaths, cases rise across state

Ahmedabad: Coronavirus has again returned to India and Gujarat has not remained untouched by its fury. The state has seen a sharp rise in Coronavirus cases in the past few weeks. Two people have died in the state due to the deadly virus. Both the deaths were reported from the same hospital in Ahmedabad.

The highest number of Covid cases have been reported from the state capital, Ahmedabad. Both the patients who died were women. Both of them were of different ages, said the hospital.

197 active cases in Ahmedabad

One woman who died due to Covid was 47-years-old, while the other was just 18. The young girl was a resident of Danilimda area in the city. Both of them were under treatment at the LG Hospital. The middle-aged woman had been admitted to hospital on May 23 and had been under treatment since then.

Ahmedabad has reported 197 active Covid cases, while 50 new Covid cases were added in the past 24 hours in the city. The situation is alarming in the city

47 active Covid cases in Rajkot

Rajkot is another city in Gujarat where Coronavirus cases are on the rise. & Covid cases were reported in the city in the past 24 hours,. which took the total number of Covid patients to 47. The new positive cases include 3 male patients and 4 female patients.

The new cases in the city have been reported from Ramakrishnanagar, Saghu Vaswani Road, Hanuman Mardi, Ayodhya Chowk and Chandresnagar. The number of active Covid cases in the city is 44 currently, of which 38 patients are under treatment and 6 have been discharged from the hospitals. Most patients are in home isolation, hence the hospitals in the city are not overburdened.

11 cases in Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar currently has 11 active Coronavirus cases. The city reported 2 new cases in the past 24 hours. The latest cases were reported from Kalol Rural area. Cases have aklso been reported from Ahmedabad city. Just like other cities, in Gandhinagar too, patients have been kept in home isolation.

Surat reports 4 Covid cases

Surat city reported 4 new Covid cases in the past 24 hours. Two youths, residents of the Citylight area, have tested positive for the virus. While one of them had visited Coorg recently, the other had returned from Bali, a few days back.

Apart from these 2, an elderly man and another youth tested positive for the virus. All the patients in Surat are admitted to different hospitals in the city.
