During his speech, Prime Minister Modi criticized previous Congress government. He said, “In the past, Congress government was an expert in making announcements but people never got the benefit of it. After becoming the Prime Minister, I see the old projects in the analysis of the program of progress. I am surprised that the foundation stone which was laid 35-40 years ago, not even an inch of work was done there later. The Congress governments neither had the intention nor the seriousness to implement those schemes.”

The Prime Minister also suggested a review of the progress made under various political parties in the past 75 years. He said, “I would request from people who are experts in doing analysis that since 75 years of independence have passed, an evolution should be done once. 100-200 parameters of development, public interest, good governance should be determined and then calculate what work is done where Congress, Left and Communists ran the government and wherever BJP got the opportunity to run the government, what happened there? I say with confidence that wherever BJP has got the opportunity to serve in the country, we have broken all the old records and have succeeded in works of public interest, public welfare and development.”

The Prime Minister highlighted the pace of development under the current government. He said, “In the last 1 year, development has progressed at a new pace. Today, development projects worth crores of rupees have been launched and foundation stones have been laid. Today, the foundation stone of the Ken-Betwa River Linking Project was also laid here…I want to congratulate the people of the state for these projects.”
