‘Work for making India a developed nation by 2047’: PM Modi tells BAPS volunteers

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed Karyakar Suvarna Mahotsav, held virtually in Ahmedabad, on 103rd birth anniversary of Bhagwan Swami Narayan. He began his speech by bowing to Bhagwan Swami Narayan, recognizing his immense contributions to society and spirituality.

“I bow to Bhagwan Swami Narayan,” PM Modi said, acknowledging the deep spiritual impact of his teachings. He praised the Mahotsav for bringing together devotees and supporters of the Swaminarayan tradition and emphasized the importance of their role in promoting values of humanity and service.

What PM Modi said on Ukraine crisis

PM Modi also shared a memorable moment during the Ukraine crisis when Indian government worked to evacuate its citizens from the war-torn country. He recalled a conversation he had with a BAPS saint in the middle of the night as India faced the challenge of providing assistance to the many Indians arriving in Poland.

“I requested him that I need your support to help the large number of Indians who are reaching Poland, and I saw how your organization brought together BAPS workers from all over Europe overnight,” the Prime Minister said. 

He lauded BAPS for their swift response, highlighting the organization’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian efforts. “This strength of BAPS and your contribution to the interest of humanity at the global level is very commendable,” he added.

In his speech, PM Modi also praised BAPS’s involvement in environmental causes, particularly the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. “These days, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Abhiyan is being discussed all over the world,” he said, recognizing the organization’s efforts to promote tree planting and environmental conservation. 

What PM Modi said on Viksit Bharat

The Prime Minister further emphasized India’s development journey and mentioned the upcoming ‘Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue,’ which will take place in January. He said, “In this, our youth will give their ideas to fulfill the resolution of a developed India.”

PM Modi also reflected on the recent inauguration of the Bhagwan Swaminarayan temple in Abu Dhabi, an event he had the honor of attending. “Just a few months ago, the Bhagwan Swaminarayan temple was established in Abu Dhabi. I was fortunate to attend that event,” he shared. 

The Prime Minister expressed how the temple, which has garnered worldwide attention, showcases India’s rich spiritual heritage and cultural diversity. “The world has seen India’s spiritual heritage. The world has seen India’s cultural diversity,” he said.
