Nashik: The Police on Friday registered a case days after a poster related to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was shown at BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar’s public event in Nashik. A case has been registered against an unknown person at Ambad police station in the city. The step was taken after the incident came to the notice of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Earlier on Thursday, Fadnavis expressed his dismay over the display of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s posters during Padalkar’s rally. “I have seen the posters of the gangster being displayed by some persons at the Nashik rally. I spoke to Padalkar and asked him to provide all relevant information to the police,” the Chief Minister said.

He added, “The use of such criminal imagery at political rallies cannot be accepted. Maharashtra will not tolerate this. The police will probe the matter thoroughly, and action will be taken will be taken against those found guilty.”
At the time of the incident, Padalkar was addressing the ‘Hindu Virat Morcha’ event in the CIDCO area of Nashik. As soon as the incident came to light, a heated discussion began on why a poster with Bishnoi’s photograph was put up.
