New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and former UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi, sources said on Thursday.

According to sources, the Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP is doing fine and is likely to be discharged on Friday. She has reportedly gone to the hospital for the routine check up.

Sonia Gandhi had turned 78 in December 2024. She was admitted to the hospital on Thursday morning, though the exact time of admission is not immediately known, said the source. She is under observation of a team of doctors.

It is now reported that Sonia Gandhi had experienced stomach issues. She underwent routine check-up at the hospital. Her condition is now stable.

In 2014, Sonia Gandhi was admitted to hospital due to an infection. She was later discharged from hospital. She was admitted to Ganga Ram Hospital at that time also. In 2011, Sonia Gandhi had also underwent surgery in the United States for unknown medical condition.
