New Delhi: During his visit to Brunei, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage at the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque on Tuesday PM Modi was received by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Crown Prince.

From the 11th-century Al-Hakim Mosque in Cairo, Egypt, renovated with the help of India’s Dawoodi Bohra community, to the grand Istiqlal Mosque in Indonesia, built to mark the nation’s independence, PM Modi has actively engaged with Muslim communities abroad.
During his visit to Egypt in 2023, PM Modi paid a visit to Al-Hakim Mosque, named after Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah, the 16th Fatimid caliph, and interacted with the Muslim community and religious leaders.
In the year 2018, PM Modi visited Indonesia’s Istiqlal Mosque. He was accompanied by Indonesian President Joko Widodo during his visit to the mosque.
PM Modi also Chulia Mosque in Singapore in 2018, a symbol of the city-state’s vibrant multicultural heritage. The masjid established by Chulias is located on South Bridge Road in Chinatown.
During his visit to Oman, PM Modi visited Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat, a majestic structure built with the craftsmanship of Indian artisans. In an X post Ministry of External Affairs had said that the mosque was built utilising 300,000 tonnes of Indian sandstone by 200 Indian craftsmen.
In the UAE, PM Modi paid his respects at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, a breathtaking architectural masterpiece. Built at an estimated cost of 545 million dollars, the mosque imposes 82 domes in seven sizes.
