Ghaziabad: Former Union minister and Army general VK Singh’s daughter was allegedly duped of Rs 3.5 crore by a trader on the pretext of selling her a bungalow in Ghaziabad, police said on Thursday.

In her complaint lodged at the Kavi Nagar police station, Yojana Singh accused trader Anand Prakash of defrauding her of Rs 3.5 crore on the pretext of selling her the bungalow in Sector-2 of Raj Nagar in Ghaziabad.

According to the complaint, Yojana claimed that the real estate deal dates back to 2014 when she agreed to buy the house for Rs 5.5 crore from the accused and paid a partial amount of Rs 3.5 crore over 10 years to transfer the registration in her name.

She alleged that the trader did not transfer the ownership rights to her even after taking Rs 3.5 crore for the same over all these years and that he is now trying to siphon off the money by showing forged documents.

In August, a notice was sent on behalf of Anand Prakash based on false information, to which she sent a response through a lawyer. It is alleged that a plan is being made to embezzle the money he was provided.

The complaint also alleges that a case of eviction has been filed in the ADM court using fake receipts. DCP City Rajesh Kumar said a case has been registered at the Kavi Nagar police station and the matter involves the deal of a bungalow in Rajnagar, and appropriate action will be taken after investigation.

It has come to light that a loan has been taken against the property, and there are preparations to top up the loan. A few days ago, V.K. Singh filed a case against Anand Prakash and a journalist for running a story based on false facts.

Police have launched an investigation in this connection.
