Ahmedabad: A harrowing new video has surfaced online, capturing the dramatic escape of students from a burning building at BJ Medical College in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The footage depicts the desperate moments following the fatal crash of an Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner last week, a tragedy that claimed the lives of 270 people.
The video shows students scaling the balcony fencing and attempting perilous climbs down from the upper floors of the medical college hostel, engulfed in flames and thick smoke. The fire, ignited by the impact of the plane, which crashed into the lower floors, created a terrifying scene of chaos and panic.

The horrifying incident occurred mere minutes after the London-bound aircraft took off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on June 12th at 1:39 pm. “After the takeoff, the plane crashed here and after a preliminary enquiry, we got to know that the plane crashed into a building…which is a doctors’ hostel,” the Joint Commissioner of Police in Ahmedabad had told reporters.
The Air India flight, carrying 242 passengers and crew, tragically crashed into the medical college complex, resulting in the deaths of 241 people onboard. Miraculously, one passenger survived. The ground impact also caused immense devastation, resulting in the deaths of above thirty people so far, including five MBBS students residing in the hostel.
