Elon Musk Says There Will Be No Affordable Tesla Anymore

We were all eagerly waiting for a more affordable Tesla which could have been priced around $25,000 but Elon has confirmed that something like this is not in their plans in the near future. Elon Musk is all out pushing Autonomous Level 5 and is fully concentrated on the Cybercab which is what he thinks is the future of motoring.

There were rumors that Tesla is working on a more affordable Tesla which would slot below the Model 3. Tesla could have entered even more markets with a smaller and more affordable vehicle like India but it seems like Elon doesn’t want anyone to own anything. He said that a more affordable Tesla is “silly” and “pointless”.

The fully autonomous Tesla is still quite far away and there is going to be a lot of approvals needed before it actually becomes reality. Tesla has not fully ironed out its current systems in their newer cars so we expect this technology to be quite a bit far away in terms of it becoming a reality.

But this begs the question if any car built by Tesla has any point at all now and if this is really the future of cars, then they should stop any further development into any other projects. Elon is not new to the concept of overpromising and underdelivering. The Cybertruck is not what it was supposed to be, the Roadster is still nowhere to be seen and the new Cybercab looks like something out of the 80’s Sci-Fi films.

We really do think that a smaller more affordable Tesla could have turned the fortunes of the company and also introduced the brand to some new customers offering a more easy entry into the brand. Tesla is not considered luxury at any level and making affordable cars completely suits their image.
