New Delhi: A 19-year-old girl from Nangloi, West Delhi, has reportedly been murdered and buried by her boyfriend and two accomplices due to a disagreement over her pregnancy. The teenager, identified as Soni, had been active on social media, amassing over 6,000 followers, and frequently shared photos and videos featuring herself and her boyfriend, known as Sanju, or Saleem. According to police, Saleem had also shared posts about Soni on his Instagram account.
Soni’s family said that they were aware of her new friendship, but when they asked about it, she would refer to him as a ghost. Police investigations revealed that Soni was seven months pregnant and was adamant about marrying Saleem, who was opposed to the idea and wanted her to terminate the pregnancy. The couple often fought over this issue, and on Monday, Soni went to meet Saleem after gathering a few items from her home.
It is alleged that Saleem and his two aides took Soni to Rohtak, Haryana, where they murdered her and disposed of her body. Authorities have arrested Saleem and one accomplice, while the other suspect remains at large, with ongoing efforts to locate him.
