Delhi government is working on the problem of water logging
Regarding the problem of water logging in Delhi, CM Gupta said, “You understand that when the rain comes, it comes in a large amount. The drains cannot take more water, so the water becomes clogged.”
She added, “It will go from the top and evaporate from the bottom. It will go to your drain. If it goes out for half an hour to 1 hour then let’s assume it is natural but if it stays more than that then it is problematic. Then there is blockage of the drain or there is a sinkhole or lack of connectivity. So it needs to be checked, so we have taken note of all the points where the problem occurred yesterday. We have immediately taken the next step, and I am relieved.”
CM Gupta told reporters, “Places like Minto Bridge are not flooded. You also did not say that things are moving in the direction of improvement and that the government is just short-lived. We have a policy which is intended to work and the way in which we are checking things by taking note of them, involving the entire department and fixing their responsibilities. I think gradually the rest of the problems that remain now will also be fixed. Some work has been done and some improvements will be made in the future.”
Regarding the problems of dengue in Delhi, CM Gupta said that elaborate preparations will be made for it and all efforts against dengue will take place in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation.
