Another person in the house, Shruti, a 15-year-old girl also inhaled smoke and sustained injuries, has been admitted to the hospital and her condition is serious, police said. The two victims were in their mid 50s. Investigation is on.

Elderly couple live with their deceased son for four days:

In a separate incident in another part of the city, a visually impaired couple in their 60s, lived with the corpse of their son for four days, unaware of his death. They were reportedly found in a semi-conscious state at their home in Nagole after the neighbours reported on foul smell emanating from their residence.

When police reached their home, they found the couple’s youngest son K Pramod’s body decomposing. The police said that the son may have passed away in his sleep four days ago.

The couple were later placed in the care of their eldest son K Pradeep, who lives in Saroor Nagar.
