Patanjali claims that it is contributing to the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat by sourcing raw materials directly from local farmers, digitally empowering them through the ‘Kisan Samridhi Yojana’ and supporting women entrepreneurs across the country. The MSME sector plays a vital role in the Indian economy, contributing more than 30 per cent to the country’s GDP and generating employment for millions of people.

According to Patanjali Ayurveda, the company has been at the forefront in strengthening the region and promoting local businesses. Through its various initiatives, Patanjali says it is empowering both rural and urban entrepreneurs and also helping in realising the dream of a self-reliant India.

The company said, “Patanjali’s biggest contribution is reflected in the purchase of raw materials directly from local farmers and producers. The company obtains herbs, grains, oils and other raw materials from farmers, thereby increasing their income. This move not only provides financial assistance to MSMEs but also increases employment opportunities in rural areas.”

The Patanjali Food and Herbal Park in Haridwar has become a major hub for local communities, where farmer groups, panchayats and self-help groups are encouraged to engage in cooperative farming. This has created employment for hundreds of people and improved rural infrastructure.

The company further claimed that to digitally empower farmers, Patanjali has launched ‘Kisan Samriddhi Yojana’. Under this scheme, farmers get access to cutting-edge technologies like mobile apps that provide smart yield analysis, weather forecasting and real-time market price information. These tools help them make informed and profitable decisions. In addition, Patanjali has partnered with fintech companies to provide invoice-based financing, which helps MSMEs get instant working capital. This helps small businesses manage inventory and cash flow effectively.

Focus on women entrepreneurs

Patanjali says it offers special support to women entrepreneurs by providing training in organic farming and access to digital tools. This has opened up self-employment opportunities for women in rural and semi-urban areas. Patanjali’s initiatives like Swadeshi Centres and Ayurvedic clinics help local entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. The company’s strategy, as mentioned, is not limited to just selling products but also focuses on making local communities self-reliant.

Motivating MSMEs and local businesses

Patanjali says that these initiatives not only promote economic development but also bridge the gap between rural and urban areas. The company’s slogan ‘Prakriti ka Ashirwad’ reflects its mission to promote Indian culture and Ayurvedic values.
