Bullet-riddled body of Bihar man found in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian

Srinagar: A man from Bihar died under mysterious circumstances and his body was recovered from Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, police said.

The body bore injury marks on the torso and the face. It was noticed lying on the roadside in Wachi area of Zainapora area by locals who informed the police. A team of police and security forces arrived at the scene and took the body in possession.

The deceased has been identified as Ashok Chauhan, son of Kuldeep Chauhan, and a resident of Bihar. He was working as a corn seller in Kashmir.

An investigation has been launched into the death to ascertain the circumstances leading to the man’s death. Sources said the injuries on the body came from gunfire shots but authorities are yet to determine it as an act by terrorists.
