New Delhi: A video showing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amar Kishore Kashyap engaging in an “inappropriate act” with a woman at the party’s district office in Gonda has gone viral. The party has reportedly issued a show-cause notice to him, demanding a written explanation within a week.
According to officials, the incident was captured by CCTV cameras installed at the BJP district office. In the footage, the Gonda unit chief is seen climbing the stairs with the woman. Kashyap then appears to make inappropriate advances toward her by hugging her as he ascends the stairs again, followed by the woman. The woman is said to be a BJP worker.

The footage is being misused to malign me: Kashyap
However, Kashyap has reportedly denied all the allegations, claiming it to be a trap set by the opposition to defame his public image. He stated that he was merely trying to help the party worker, as she was feeling unwell. According to him, the video has been misrepresented with the intent to malign his reputation.
He asserts,” The woman in the video is a party worker. She was feeling unwell on that day and had requested a place to rest. I took her to the office. While climbing the stairs, she felt dizzy, and I held her to support her. The footage is being misused to malign me.”
A party worker claimed the video clip to be “shameful” and filed a formal complaint with the BJP leadership.
The PTI reports, the BJP state general secretary Govind Narayan Shukla, issued a show cause notice to Kashyap. “The video circulated on social media has brought to light conduct that negatively impacts the party’s reputation and falls under the category of indiscipline,” the notice read.
“In accordance with the instructions of the state president, you are hereby asked to submit a written explanation to the BJP state office within seven days. Failure to provide a satisfactory response in the stipulated time will invite strict disciplinary action,” it stated.
