New Delhi: In a major breakthrough in the Baba Siddique murder case, a joint operation by the Mumbai Special Task Force (STF) and Uttar Pradesh STF has led to the arrest of the prime accused, Shiva, and his associates. The accused were arrested on Sunday in Nandapara, Bahraich. Shiva, originally from Gandra, Bahraich, had been on the run since the murder of Baba Siddique on October 12, 2024, in Mumbai. Siddique was shot dead outside his MLA son’s Bandra office.

The arrest came after a month-long manhunt by the Mumbai STF, who had been searching for Shiva. As per the investigations Shiva was attempting to flee to Nepal. His arrest was part of a well-coordinated effort, led by UP STF sub-inspector Javed Alam Siddique and Pramesh Kumar Shukla, with the assistance of the Mumbai Crime Branch.
