New Delhi: In recent years, the Indian government has launched a host of schemes and initiatives and the Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card is one of them. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched this health insurance coverage for all senior citizens who are 70 years or older, without considering their income.

Step 1: First go to Google Playstore and download the Ayushman App.

Step 2: In the next step, you have to apply as a beneficiary.

Step 3: For the authentication process, you have to enter the Captcha and mobile number and then enter the OTP sent to the number.

Step 4: On the next page, you will get an option to enrol the senior citizen.

Step 5: Enter your Aadhaar to check if it already exists.

Step 6: After that, click on the button for New Enrollment.

Step 7: In the next step, perform the e-KYC and proceed by selecting the checkbox for consent.

Step 8: Enter the Aadhaar and mobile OTP for verification.

Step 9: On the next page, you have to provide a declaration as applicable.

Step 10: Then capture the photo of the beneficary and fill in with all the additional details.

Step 11: Finally, add any family member who is above the age of 70 years or submit the details.

What are the benefits of the Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card?

The Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card is a part of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY). It gives all citizens who are 70 years old and above free health coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh per year, regardless of their financial situation or income. Expensive medical care can be a hazard for senior residents, and the program aims to ensure they get access to respectable healthcare.

The program gives senior citizens access to affordable healthcare. Thanks to the Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card, they do not have to worry about exorbitant medical bills anymore. According to PM Modi, the plan has already helped 4 crore people. The beneficiaries get health insurance up to Rs 5 lakh and if a household has multiple elderly individuals, the coverage will be shared among them.

Who is eligible for the Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card?

The eligibility criteria of Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card is very simple. The applicant must be a permanent resident of India. Also, as has been already mentioned, the applicant has to be a senior citizen whose age has to be 70 years and above.
