New Delhi: A day after Pakistan tried to attack several Indian cities, which was swiftly retaliated by the Indian armed forces, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Friday said that the denial by the neighbour country on the same suggests their duplicity.
Addressing a press conference, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that Pakistan also tried to mislead the world by trying to prove that India tried to attack its cities, as nothing but their fantasy.
“The provocative action by Pakistan, they tried to target Indian cities and civilian infrastructure apart from military targets with missiles and drones last night. While the armed forces respond swiftly and fail in their attempts, Pakistan’s denial of the same is yet another example of their duplicity,” he said.
He added, “Pakistan claimed that they did not attack any religious places. Instead of owning up, they made an outrageous statement that the same was done by India. It was nothing but efforts to mislead the world. Their attempts will not succeed. The explanation India would attack its cities is the fantasy that only Pakistan can come up with.”
Referring to Pakistan’s allegations that India tried to target Nankana Sahib in Pakistan, he noted, “Another misinformation is that India tried to attack Nankana Sahib Gurudwara. It is again a blatant lie. Again, we are not surprised. India’s steadfast unity is a danger to Pakistan.”
