New Delhi: The Indian Army is keeping close tabs on the constant ceasefire violations by the Pakistan Army. As per Defence officials, the Indian Army chief is constantly communicating with local formations regarding the actions of the Pakistan Army in the region. Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi is in touch with local formations in Jammu and Kashmir, reports said.
The formations have been given operational freedom to respond in an appropriate manner to the Pakistan Army’s use of artillery, which has been targeting Indian civilians along the Line of Control (LoC).
Indian Army carried out precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir in the wee hours of Wednesday. In response, Pakistan conducted artillery shelling on civilian targets.
Gurudwara struck
Pakistan resorted to heavy shelling in Kashmir’s Poonch and Rajouri areas along the LoC after Operation Sindoor. A shell fired from Pakistan hit a corner of Gurudwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha in Poonch district, causing minor structural damage, according to Narinder Singh, President of the District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee.
“We will not leave the place and support the Indian Army. The ceasefire may be violated today as well. The operation is a befitting reply. We have sent the women and children from here, but the men will stay here,” a resident was quoted as saying by ANI.
