Apple Starts Testing Crucial Blood Sugar App: No, It May Not Measure Sugar!

Samsung has been in long talks and rumours about bringing glucose sugar to its smartwatch or smart ring. While nothing has come to real life so far, now Apple is reportedly testing a blood sugar service. As per a report by Bloomberg, Apple is taking a crucial step in health care while testing this blood-sugar app to help prediabetic people manage their food intake and lifestyle.

While quoting anonymous sources, the report suggests that Apple may not release an app but the iPhone maker may integrate it into future health products. This could be a non-invasive glucose tracker which is still under development for years.

The blood sugar app has been tested earlier on some employees which is part of its broader push before the actual release of it. The report suggests that people who were involved in the testing needed to be prediabetic via blood tests. You must note that prediabetic doesn’t mean the person has diabetes but suggests it to be at the risk of getting Type 2, which is a stage when your body doesn’t use insulin properly which increases the blood sugar level.

What exactly happened during the early testing? The select employees of Apple monitored their blood sugar via devices available in the market. All they needed to do it log in all the blood sugar level details in sync with their food intake. You guessed it right! Apple is not working on a blood-sugar monitoring device, instead to guide you about your food intake and necessary changes in your lifestyle on the basis of your sugar level.

However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman who actively reports about Apple’s development suggests that the tech has stopped testing it for now to focus on other health features.

Apple’s Upcoming Launches

While Apple’s blood sugar guide to managing your food habits is still far away and there is no surety if Apple will actually pull off it or not. However, the Cupertino-based company is all set to introduce new Macs, including MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac Mini in the upcoming week with a new M4 chipset.
