New Delhi: Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan has made a big real estate investment in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya. He has bought a 25,000 square feet land, worth Rs 40 crore in the holy city. This is the film star’s fourth major investment in Ayodhya, and it seems that he is making some long-term plans for this city.

The piece of land bought by Bachchan is located in the high-profile real estate project, ‘The Sarayu’, which is a luxury residential township project, spread over hundreds of acres. It is being developed by The House of Abhinandan Logics and international level facilities will be available to the residents here.

In a statement following the land deal, Bachchan said, “The historical, spiritual and cultural identity of Ayodhya inspired me to invest here. I am excited about my association with this city and plan to build a beautiful residential house here.”

The developers of the project said that Bachchan’s association with this project is not only a big thing for the real estate sector in Ayodhya, but it will also strengthen the image of the city at the international level. The company’s Managing Director (MD) Rohit Sinha said that the trust of a renowned personality like Bachchan reflects the quality and vision of this project.

Bachchan has already bought 3 plots in Ayodhya

Earlier, the Piku star had made a Rs 20 crore investment in a real estate firm owned by Bollywood producer Anand Pandit. His previous investments in Ayodhya include a 5,372 square feet plot bought for Rs 4.54 crore just ahead of the inauguration of the Ram Mandir, last year. According to a report in Mint, this is where his interest in the the real estate of Ayodhya began.

The Bachchan family is also expanding its real estate portfolio outside Ayodhya. In 2023, Amitabh Bachcxhan and his son, Abhishek, bought 10 apartments worth Rs 25 crore.

Net worth of Bachchan family

While filing her nomination for the Rajya Sabha, Jaya Bachchan had declared that the total net worth of her and her husband (Amitabh Bachchan) is Rs 1,578 crore. The total movable assets of the couple was worth Rs 849.11 crore, while immovable assets was worth Rs 729.77 crore.

Following the land buys, these figures are expected to go up soon.

Growing interest of stars in Ayodhya

After the construction of the Ram Temple and major changes in infrastructure, Ayodhya is fast becoming a new centre of investment. Earl;ier also several important personalities have bought property here. This investment by Big B is not just an economic move but also reflects his personal involvement and participation in the development of the city.
