New Delhi: In view of escalating tensions in the Middle East amid Israel-Iran conflict, IndiGo on Tuesday said that they are considering the safest available flight paths to ensure secure and seamless travel. The airline said that it was in close coordination with aviation authorities and monitoring the situation round-the-clock.
“As airports across the Middle East gradually reopen, we are prudently and progressively resuming operations on these routes. We continue to monitor the situation closely and are fully considering the safest available flight paths to ensure secure and seamless travel,” the airline said in a travel advisory.
IndiGo temporarily halted flight operations to and from Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Muscat and 10 other destinations amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. Besides, flights of Air India Express and Air India to the Middle East have been impacted, and some of them have been diverted.
Iran on Monday launched a missile attack on a US airbase in Qatar, mounting tensions in the region, and a few countries, including Qatar, briefly closed their airspace.
“In view of the evolving situation in the Middle East, our flight operations to and from Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Dammam, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Madinah, Fujairah, Jeddah, Muscat, Sharjah, Riyadh, Ras AI-Khaimah and Tbilisi have been suspended at least until 1000hrs today,” the airline said, adding that the decision has been taken as a “proactive safety measure”.
In its advisory, the airline advised the flyers to check the flight status on its website or mobile app, and explore rebooking options or claim a full refund online. SpiceJet also said that all departures and arrivals, and their consequential flights, might be affected, due to airspace closure at Dubai.
