Chennai: Actor-politician ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is gearing up for its first state conference on October 27, generating immense excitement among supporters and political observers. The conference venue, spread over 150 acres near Vikravandi in Villupuram district, features massive cutouts of Kamaraj, Periyar, BR Ambedkar and Vijay highlighting the party’s focus on social justice, women’s rights, equality, and education.

Preparations are underway to accommodate lakhs of volunteers, with arrangements for four parking lots, 85 acres of conference grounds, and 100 feet of road. Security measures include multiple organizations monitoring CCTV surveillance. Twenty-five committees have been appointed with separate in-charges to ensure smooth operations.

The conference entrance resembles a fortress wall, with two elephants and a banner displaying the slogan ” Vettri Kolgai Thiruvizha (Victory Policy Festival).” Vijay’s cutout is strategically placed among those of Kamaraj, Periyar, and Ambedkar, symbolizing his commitment to education, rationality, and egalitarianism.

Vijay’s supporters view this alignment as a representation of his political journey, emphasizing education, social justice, and equality. The inclusion of Tamil Thai cutouts, amidst the Tamil Thai greeting controversy, has sparked interest. Cutouts of women freedom fighters ‘Veeramankai’ Velunachiar and Cuddalore Anjalayammal are also being displayed.

Vijay’s entry into politics has been highly anticipated since his announcement to retire from cinema. His party’s flag, unveiled on August 22, 2024, reflects the core principles of equality, development, and justice for all. With the conference just days away, excitement and curiosity are building around Vijay’s vision for Tamil Nadu and his party’s future direction.

The event is expected to draw attention from across the state, with many eager to witness Vijay’s formal entry into politics. As the conference approaches, speculation surrounding TVK’s principles and policies is rampant. Vijay’s supporters believe his party will bring positive change to Tamil Nadu, while others remain skeptical.

The stage is set for Vijay to unveil his party’s agenda and chart a new course for Tamil Nadu politics.
