Prez Murmu, PM Modi extend greeting to Tripura, Meghalaya & Manipur on Statehood Day

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have extended greeting to the people of Tripura, Meghalaya and Manipur on their Statehood Day. President Murmu and PM Modi took to social media platform X to convey their greetings.

In her post, President Murmu lauds the contribution of the three northeastern states in the development of the country. She also extended her best wishes to the people of these states for a peaceful and prosperous future.

“Greetings to the residents of Meghalaya, Tripura and Manipur on Statehood Day! The enterprising people of these states have made remarkable contribution in the development of the country. I convey my best wishes to the residents of these states for a peaceful and prosperous future. May their diverse culture, vibrant traditions and rich biodiversity continue to flourish!” read her post on X.

PM Modi in a series of posts talked about the rich culture and heritage of the states while lauding the industrious nature of the people. Talking about Tripura, the PM wrote about the state’s contributions to national progress. He also prayed for the continuous development of Meghalaya. On Manipur he wrote, “We are incredibly proud of the role played by the people of Manipur towards India’s development. My best wishes for the progress of Manipur.”

Tripura, Meghalaya, and Manipur received the title of full-fledged states under the North Eastern Region Re-Organisation Act, 1971 on 21st January 1972.
