New Delhi: BJP President and Union minister JP Nadda on Monday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed the political culture in India during his 11 years in office, making governance more responsive and accountable. He was speaking at a press conference marking the completion of 11 years of the NDA government. Nadda was accompanied by other Union ministers.
Praising Modi’s leadership, Nadda said that the Prime Minister had ushered in an era of “politics of performance” and good governance, in stark contrast to the “corruption, scams, and appeasement” that, he alleged, characterised the previous Congress-led UPA regime.
Transformative decisions under PM’s leadership
He further highlighted the transformative decisions taken under Modi’s leadership, Nadda cited the abrogation of Article 370, the criminalisation of triple talaq, the amendment of Waqf laws, demonetisation, and the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill. According to Nadda, these measures reflect the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
“The work done under Prime Minister Modi over the past 11 years is nothing short of extraordinary and should be written in golden letters,” he said further.
People at centre of policy
He also credited Modi with redefining governance by putting people at the centre of policy, streamlining welfare delivery, and ensuring that the government remains sensitive to public needs.
Prime Minister Modi took oath for a third term on June 9, 2024. The Modi government marks its first anniversary in the third term and 11th overall on Monday.
