Chennai: A shocking case of sexual assault has come to light in Puducherry, where a 16-year-old girl from Mumbai was allegedly assaulted by four individuals, including an auto driver. The girl had gone missing from her relative’s house in Puducherry on October 30, prompting her relatives to file a complaint with the police.
The investigation led police to CCTV footage showing the girl boarding an auto. Upon questioning the auto driver, Kaja Moideen, it was revealed that he had sexually assaulted the girl and dropped her off at a beach resort in Thanthirayan Kuppam, where she was further assaulted by three youths from Chennai.

The girl was rescued on November 2 from Puducherry beach, and during interrogation, the auto driver and three youths confessed to the crime. The police have registered a case against two more people in connection with the incident.
The accused allegedly deceived the girl with promises of showing her around Puducherry, gave her alcohol, and then assaulted her multiple times. The girl was later taken to a hostel, where she was again assaulted by the three youths.
The police have arrested Kaja Moideen and three others in connection with the case, which has sparked widespread outrage. This case bears resemblance to another shocking incident in Puducherry earlier this year, where a nine-year-old girl’s body was found in a drain, and she was later confirmed to have been sexually assaulted before being murdered.
