Dhamaal 4 Movie Review: Old Formula, New Packaging… Ajay Devgn’s Family Entertainer Is Made for Laughter

The identity of the ‘Dhamaal’ franchise has always been its absurd comedy, bizarre situations, and nonstop chaos. Released in theatres on July 10, 2026, ‘Dhamaal 4’ stays true to that style. Director Indra Kumar does not attempt a major experiment with the story and instead relies on the same brand of entertainment that made the series popular in the first place. At around 2 hours and 23 minutes, the film does not try to take itself seriously and remains focused on light-hearted fun from start to finish.

The Treasure Hunt Once Again Drives the Story

Once again, the story revolves around a mysterious treasure. The clue is linked to a giant ‘M’, and several different teams set out in pursuit of it. Along the way, misunderstandings, clever tricks, and constantly changing situations create comic chaos. There are not many major twists in the plot, but the pace of events and the clashes between the characters keep the audience engaged. The final portion of the film also leaves room for the possibility of another sequel.

The Entire Star Cast Is the Film’s Biggest Strength

Ajay Devgn appears in a restrained style, while Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, and Javed Jaffrey make several scenes memorable with their comic timing. Ravi Kishan’s pirate-like character adds a distinct flavor to the story. Sanjay Mishra, Upendra Limaye, Anjali Anand, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Esha Gupta, Vijay Patkar, and Brijendra Kala also leave an impact in their respective parts. The film’s biggest strength is the chemistry among the actors, which makes even ordinary scenes entertaining.

Some Technical Shortcomings, But the Entertainment Stays Intact

The film’s visual scale looks bigger than before. However, some scenes could have benefited from better VFX. The background score stays in sync with the story. The tune inspired by ‘Bella Ciao’ and several cinematic references to popular films give viewers plenty of moments to smile. Glimpses of films like ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, ‘Avengers’, ‘Dhoom’, and ‘Welcome’ make many scenes even more enjoyable.

What Is the Early Audience Reaction?

On the first day of release, social media saw mixed reactions to the film. Many viewers called it an entertaining watch for the whole family, while some felt that the story seemed too familiar. However, most reactions praised the cast’s comic timing and the film’s light-hearted entertainment style.

Verdict

If you want a film that values comedy, chaos, and entertainment more than logic, then ‘Dhamaal 4’ does not disappoint. It does not offer a new story, but it succeeds to a large extent in bringing back the franchise’s signature fun on the big screen. For viewers looking for a light weekend watch with the family, this could be a good option.
