New Delhi: IndiGo Airline has issued advisory for its Goa-bound passengers in view of rain forecast in South and North parts of the state.

In a message on social media platform X, the airline urges its passengers to check their flight status before leaving for airport.

In a public notice, it said, “Owing to inclement weather and rainfall in Goa, flight operations may be subject to delays or disruptions. We strongly recommend that all customers check the latest flight status prior to leaving for the airport and allocate additional travel time, as weather conditions may also impact local traffic.”

The airline also assured the travelers of speedy customer support and assistance with respect to the deteriorating weather conditions– “Our teams remain accessible across all customer service touchpoints and are committed to assisting you at every step of your journey.”

IMD issues Orange alert for heavy rains in Goa

Goa is experiencing intense pre monsoon rainfall for the second day today leading the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an orange alert for both North and South Goa districts. the heavy rainfall is expected to disrupt flight operations.

A bulletin issued by the IMD on Tuesday evening mentioned that very heavy to heavy rains are expected along with severe thunderstorms and wind speeds of 50-60 kilometers per hour with gusts up to 70 km per hour occurring in a few locations over North and South Goa over the course of the next 24 hours.

Sanguem, a taluka of South Goa recorded the most rain on Monday, with 68.5 mm  throughout the day. Quepem, in the same district, received 40 mm of rainfall.

On Monday, Canacona taluka in South Goa recorded 12.8 mm of rain, while Pernem taluka in North Goa received 12.4 mm. Panaji, the capital, received approximately 2.4 mm of rainfall.
