Congress is following Pakistan’s line: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy
‘Reflects Congress party’s bankrupt mindset’: Kishan Reddy hits out at Kharge’s ‘small war’ remarks on ‘Operation Sindoor’

New Delhi: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has lambasted Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for dubbing ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a “small war”. He said that Kharge’s statement is an affront to the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces.

In a post on X, Kishan Reddy said that by downplaying a “decisive” military operation, Kharge has tried to undermine India’s soldiers’ courage, capability, and strategic strength.

The minister pointed out that while the entire world, including India, is celebrating the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’, it is “baffling” to see Congress leaders so rattled. He added that while they were in power, they failed to prioritise boosting the armed forces. Now, even out of power, they are struggling to acknowledge and celebrate the Army’s achievements, Kishan Reddy said.

The minister questioned whether destroying nine terrorist camps inside Pakistan was a minor conflict. He also highlighted the importance of demolishing 11 military bases of the Pakistan Army, while asking: Is destroying China-developed advanced military radars and missile defence systems using missiles developed by our Indian scientists a minor conflict? The minister also pointed out how Pakistan was rattled to the point of pleading for de-escalation and this was no sign of a small conflict.

He underlined that the response of Congress highlights a deeper issue within the grand old party — a lack of vision and a mindset that seems increasingly out of touch with national sentiment.
