New Delhi: Toothpaste is an essential part of daily hygiene, used not only for cleaning teeth but also for tackling several minor dental issues. While numerous brands flood the market with claims of being the best for oral health, Patanjali’s Dant Kanti has emerged as a favourite among consumers in recent years. Its Ayurvedic composition and absence of side effects are driving its growing popularity.

A study published in the International Journal of Multi Display Education Research highlights that Dant Kanti is proving to be more effective than many other brands. It further states that demand for the toothpaste is rising steadily across various regions.

Herbal formula boosts popularity

Dant Kanti is known for helping with common dental problems such as bad breath, pyorrhea, tooth weakening, and yellowing. Made using Ayurvedic principles, it contains natural ingredients like neem, clove, babool (acacia), and mint. This herbal formulation has attracted health-conscious consumers looking for chemical-free alternatives. In response to its success, many multinational companies have also launched Ayurvedic variants to keep up with the competition.

Backed by research

According to Patanjali’s internal research, Dant Kanti is outperforming other brands in terms of sales. In areas where it is not readily available, customers reportedly go out of their way to procure it. The study estimates that its sales have crossed several crore rupees. Consumers consider it a reliable choice not just for its effectiveness but also for being an indigenous and Ayurvedic product.

With its growing popularity, Dant Kanti now holds an 11% share of the toothpaste market, challenging several well-established brands.

Why people prefer Dant Kanti

The study highlights several reasons behind the rising demand:

41% of users cited Ayurvedic ingredients as their primary reason for choosing the product.

89% of consumers showed strong brand loyalty towards Patanjali.

32% of buyers made independent purchasing decisions, while 26% were influenced by their parents’ preferences.

One of the key reasons for Dant Kanti’s increasing appeal is its promise of zero side effects while helping strengthen teeth and fight bacterial infections. As consumers become more conscious about natural and local products, Dant Kanti continues to see a rise in both usage and trust.
