BSF officer Imtiyaz killed in Pakistan shelling laid to rest in Bihar

Patna: The mortal remains of BSF Sub-Inspector Mohammed Imteyaz were laid to rest in Chhapra, Bihar. He was first transported to Patna before making his final journey to Chapra, his home village. His funeral was attended by numerous dignitaries, including Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, high-ranking BSF officials, and local authorities.

Imteyaz lost his life on May 10 during cross-border shelling from Pakistan in the RS Pura sector of Jammu and Kashmir. His death sent shockwaves through his village of Chapra and the Border Security Force (BSF). Imteyaz was a highly respected member of his community, known for encouraging young people to join the armed forces. He made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty on that Saturday. His son, Imran, said, “I am proud of my father. I salute all those who have sacrificed their lives for the country.”

A senior BSF officer confirmed that Imteyaz displayed exceptional bravery by leading his men from the front during the intense cross-border firing. The officer also revealed a poignant conversation Imteyaz had with a close friend just a day before the incident, where he expressed concern about the volatile situation, unaware that it would be their last conversation.
