Across Twitter (X), Telegram, and Facebook, grainy videos started surfacing — fighter jets blown out of the sky, explosions lighting up the night, missiles crashing into bases. But here’s the thing: most of it is fake. A lot of what people are watching and forwarding is actually gameplay footage from titles like ARMA 3, Battlefield 3, and Call of Duty. These games have near-cinematic graphics, and with mods and no HUD (heads-up display), they’re hard to distinguish from real war footage. And that’s exactly what makes them perfect fodder for misinformation.
