Pleasant weather in Delhi to stay; IMD predicts more showers for national capital, Bihar

New Delhi: Light rain in parts of Delhi on Saturday morning brought a pleasant change in the weather. Areas such as Chandni Chowk and the New Delhi Railway Station experienced light showers, making the morning cooler and more comfortable for residents. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that similar weather may continue in the capital for the next few days.

According to the IMD, Delhi is likely to see cloudy skies on Sunday as well. There is a chance of light to moderate rainfall in some areas, along with strong winds and thunder. A yellow alert has been issued for rain and thunderstorms in the Delhi-NCR region, and this weather pattern is expected to persist through the week. The cloudy sky and showers are likely to bring a drop in both daytime and nighttime temperatures.

Meanwhile, other parts of the country are also expected to receive rain. On Sunday, states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, and Sikkim are likely to experience rainfall. In Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh, winds with speeds between 40 to 50 kilometers per hour are expected, accompanied by thunder and lightning.

The weather department has also predicted thunderstorms in many districts of Bihar and western Madhya Pradesh on May 5 and 6.

The situation is similar in parts of Rajasthan. Some areas of southwest Rajasthan may receive rainfall on May 6 and 7. A western disturbance is expected to bring thunderstorms and rain to many parts of the state over the coming week. This is likely to cause a drop in temperature and offer much-needed relief from the rising summer heat.

As for Delhi-NCR, the maximum temperature on Sunday is expected to be between 34 to 36 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may range between 22 to 24 degrees Celsius. With the ongoing weather changes, the minimum temperature may fall by 1 to 2 degrees, while the maximum temperature could drop by 3 to 5 degrees in the coming days.
