1 dead, 20 feared trapped as building collapses in Lucknow; rescue ops underway

Lucknow: A major accident occurred on Saturday in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, when a building collapsed on Shaheed Path. Around 20 people are feared trapped under the debris. Rescue teams have arrived on the scene and have initiated operations to save those trapped. Teams from the NDRF and SDRF are also on site. The injured are being extricated from the rubble and one person has been reported dead.

According to reports, the incident occurred in the Sarojini Nagar police station area, where an old building on Shaheed Path near Transport Nagar collapsed due to heavy rain. The building, which houses a medicine manufacturing facility, was occupied by around 20 people at the time of the collapse. Upon learning of the accident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken notice and has ordered a swift rescue operation.
