“We are talking to the youth and trying to find out whether these photographs are true or morphed. We are also talking to the parents of the youth,” the IPS officer was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

“As of now, it seems that there is nothing to sensationalise. We are questioning him to get every detail of his acquaintance with this special friend,” the officer added.

Youth’s social media profile being examined

The police said that cyber experts were examining the social media profile of the youth along with his mobile contacts and call details being verified.

“Our officers are also trying to find out whether he genuinely knew this person during his stay in Qatar or if he has randomly posted something to create some sensation,” the officer said.

The youth didn’t had any work for a short period after returning from Qatar. In an attempt to find work, he left for Mumbai for a suitable opportunity. The police is currently cross-checking all the claims made by the youth, who is currently residing in Krishnanagar.

According to a report from Indiatoday.in, the youth uploaded pictures on Facebook story, wherein he was seen holding AK-47-esque rifles. The story was captioned as ‘Pakistani bhaiya’. This has triggered alert given the country is fighting terrorism after 26 lives were claimed in the recent attack in Pahalgam in Kashmir.
