New Delhi: In an apparent shocking incident reported from Karnataka capital Bengaluru, a Swiggy delivery executive has been accused of sexually harassing a customer. The cuctomer has claimed that the delivery agent allegedly made inappropriate sexual remarks when he came pick up a package for delivery.
The accused Swiggy delivery agent reportedly asked the customer whether he ‘can suck his c***’. Hearing the offensive wordings, the man took back his package from the delivery agent and complaint to the online delivery platform.
Man narrates ordeal in social media
The 23-year-old man has now narrated his ordeal in a Reddit post.
“So I had to send keys to my flatmate as I was at my friends flats. The swiggy genie guy came and I gave the package. He waited for 10 seconds and I was just standing there. He asked for OTP and I checked my phone and said no OTP is given. Then he again waited for like 5-10 seconds and says verbatim “can I suck your c***?”. I wish I was fucking kidding. I just said no because I was quite take aback. Then I told my friends at the flat and they said ki get the package from him he doesn’t seem safe. So I got the package from him back,” the man said in a Reddit post.
Following the incident, the man shared the incident with his friends who advised him to take the package back expressing concern over the safety issue.
Victim expresses disappointment with Swiggy
The man then complained to Swiggy and expressed his disappointment over how the online delivery app handled the issue.
The man goes on to say, “Then I complaint in Swiggy and it was quite disappointing. The first thing they said was that the guy was from rapido as they’ve a partnership with rapido for genie. I said I booked on swiggy genie so he’s from Swiggy genie. And they said sorry for inconvenience I have booked another pickup for your package.”
Later, Swiggy sent another delivery agent to collect the package. The Swiggy also filed a complaint against the agent and said they will make sure the person is removed. Swiggy later blacklisted the delivery person from both Swiggy and Rapido.
