Delhi court grants protection from arrest to AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan till Feb 24

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Thursday granted protection from arrest to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and former Delhi Waqf Board chairperson Amanatullah Khan till February 24 in a case of allegedly attacking a Delhi Police team in the national capital on February 10.

Special judge Jitendra Singh directed the AAP MLA, who moved the court seeking anticipatory bail in the case, to join probe in the case whenever directed by the investigating officer.

As per the police, Khan attacked a Delhi Police team in Jamia Nagar on February 10 a mob led by him helped a proclaimed offender, who is an accused in an attempt-to-murder case, escape from custody. A First Information Report (FIR) was registered by the Delhi Police in the matter.
