Dehradun: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to visit his native village Panchur in Uttarakhand on February 6 to attend his niece’s wedding.

During his visit, CM Yogi will also inaugurate a 100-feet high tricolour at the Guru Gorakhnath Government College Vithyani campus. This two-day visit will see CM Yogi spending time with his family and participating in the wedding celebrations of his nephew.

Yogi Adityanath’s roots

CM Yogi Adityanath, whose real name is Ajay Singh Bisht, hails from Panchur village in the Yamkeshwar area of Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand. Born on June 5, 1972, he left home at a very young age to take sanyaas and became a disciple of Mahant Avedyanath. Over the years, he gained immense knowledge and rose to become the head of Gorakshapeeth, the seat of the Nath sect.

Village visit and security arrangements

CM Yogi’s visit to Panchur is anticipated with great excitement, and security arrangements are being meticulously planned. The Public Works Department (PWD) is preparing the helipad at Kandi for the Chief Minister’s helicopter landing, while preparations are also underway to repair the helipad located at Yamkeshwar Rapta.

Public meeting and temple visit

Apart from attending the wedding, CM Yogi Adityanath will visit the Yamkeshwar Mahadev temple. Additionally, he will address a public meeting on February 6 at the Guru Gorakhnath Mahavidyalaya Bithyani campus. The event is expected to draw many prominent leaders from Uttarakhand, further highlighting the significance of the Chief Minister’s visit.

Family background

CM Yogi’s father, Anand Singh Bisht, worked in the forest department and passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic. His mother, Savitri Devi, resides in the village. Yogi Adityanath is one of eight siblings, with three sisters and four brothers. He is the fifth among his siblings.

Yogi’s brothers in different occupations

His elder brother, Manvendra Mohan, holds a government position in a college. Following him is Yogi Adityanath, and his two younger brothers, Shailendra Mohan and Mahendra Mohan. Shailendra serves as a Subedar in the army on the Indo-China border, while Mahendra works in a school. Among his sisters, Shashi Payal runs a food shop near the Bhuvaneshwari Devi temple in Pauri Garhwal. Despite their brother’s prominence, the family has remained grounded and dedicated to their respective fields, with no other members entering politics.
