New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the AAP. He accused it of corruption and providing refuge to illegal immigrants. Speaking at a public meeting in Mustafabad assembly constituency on Saturday, Shah said there was a strong wave against the party in Delhi and criticised its administration as a “3G government.”
He said that the three Gs referred to “ghotale wali sarkar” (a government involved in scams), “ghuspaithiyon ko panaah dene wali sarkar” (a government that shelters intruders) and “ghaple karne wali sarkar” (a government engaged in corruption). He also highlighted the issue of illegal immigrants in the city.
People ready to sweep AAP out: Shah
Shah said that AAP leaders were aware of the growing public dissatisfaction, with voters set to reject the party in the upcoming elections. “People are ready to sweep AAP out with a ‘jhadoo’ (broom),” he said, speaking of the government’s failures. He called for the removal of the “AAP-da” disaster, along with the liquor mafia and corruption, urging voters to choose BJP for the city’s progress.
He warned the public not to be complacent, as electing the wrong leaders could result in the return of those responsible for the Delhi riots. Shah urged the crowd to decide whether they wanted leaders who had thrown the city into chaos or those who had worked to restore peace.
Delhi elections
The Delhi elections will be held on February 5, 2025, with results on February 8, 2025. All 70 seats in the Delhi Legislative Assembly will be up for grabs, and 36 seats are needed for a majority. The main parties in the race are AAP, led by Arvind Kejriwal, BJP, and Congress. AAP has introduced schemes like Mahila Samman Yojana and Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana, while BJP is focusing on welfare, governance, and anti-corruption, with promises of schemes like Mahila Samridhi Yojana and Matru Suraksha Vandana.
