Over 10 crore devotees took baths till Thursday

A large number of devotees have taken a dip in the holy Sangam since the beginning of Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. While the authorities have expected 45 crore devotees to take a dip, more than 10 crore people have already taken a dip at the Sangam since January 11, two days before the start of the mega event.

According to officials, the historic milestone was achieved last Thursday, suggesting that the number of devotees taking a dip at the holy river may even surpass the authorities’ expectations until the last day of the Maha Kumbh. The event is big until February 26. Over 30 lakh devotees took a dip on Thursday alone, including 10 lakh Kalpasis.

Importantly, the Maha Kumbh Mela like every time continues to attract devotees from both India and abroad. Pilgrims from different countries, like Canada, Germany, the US, Australia, Mauritius, and Russia have visited the Maha Kumbh Mela so far.

Yogi Adityanath took a dip on Wednesday

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took a dip at the Sangham on Wednesday. Apart from him state Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, and other ministers of the Adityanath Government also took dip the same day. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also visited the site recently and took the holy dip.

“Uttar Pradesh Aerospace and Defence and employment policy has completed 5 years. It will be renewed. New incentives have been announced to attract more investment,” news agency ANI quoted CM Yogi Adityanath as saying.
