New Delhi: As Delhi prepares for Republic Day Parade on January 26, the rehearsal is in full swing. Amid this a behind-the-scenes video has gone viral on social media showing NSS Contingent sharing cheerful exchange with the Navy Contingent. They could be seen dancing to the tune of Oscar winning song ‘Jai Ho’. India is celebrating its 76th Republic Day this year.

A regular in the Republic Day parade
The NSS contingent has been a regular in the Republic Day parade for years. This year, their participation continues to be a recognition of the valuable community service provided by the volunteers.
Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto is the chief guest this year. He will arrive on January 25 for a two-day visit. The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed this in a statement: “At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto will pay a state visit to India during January 25-26. President Prabowo will also be the Chief Guest for India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations. India and Indonesia share warm and friendly ties spanning over millenia.”
Full dress rehearsal on January 23
The Full Dress Rehearsal of the parade will take place on January 23 at Kartavya Path. It will provide a sneak peek into the grand display ahead of the official celebration.
Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for traffic restrictions around Kartavya Path. Traffic will be restricted at major crossings, including the Kartavya Path-Rafi Marg, Kartavya Path-Janpath, and Kartavya Path-C Hexagon intersections.
