New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of insulting and abusing the people of Delhi. Kejriwal urged the citizens of Delhi to respond to this alleged disrespect by voting against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the assembly elections.

Kejriwal criticized the Prime Minister’s speech, claiming that out of 38 minutes, Modi spent 29 minutes “abusing the people of Delhi and the Aam Aadmi Party.” Kejriwal said he hopes that in the next speech, Modi would address the developmental issues facing Delhi.

What Arvind Kejriwal said

Kejriwal highlighted several pending projects, including the Master Plan of Delhi 2041, which has yet to be notified. He blamed this delay for halting development in the capital. The former Chief Minister also brought up other unfulfilled promises, such as the abolition of Sections 81 and 33, ownership rights for rural landowners, and compensation plots for acquired land by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).

He pointed out that the land pooling policy announced in 2018 has not been implemented, which has further stalled progress. “How do you have the guts to ask for votes without delivering on your promises?” Kejriwal questioned, urging the Prime Minister to talk about these issues in his speeches.

Kejriwal highlights AAP’s commitment to Delhi

Despite these challenges, Kejriwal emphasized AAP’s commitment to Delhi’s development. Referring to recent inaugurations, including the RRTS connection between Delhi and Sahibabad, the Janakpuri-Krishna Park Metro line, and the foundation stone of the Rithala-Sonipat Metro, Kejriwal said, “These projects show that AAP works only for Delhi.”

He said that AAP leaders, including himself, Manish Sisodia, and Satyendar Jain, faced significant challenges and even imprisonment. However, they prioritized Delhi’s development above party interests. “We struggled, held meetings, and did whatever was necessary to ensure work for Delhi progressed,” he said.

Kejriwal called on the people of Delhi to evaluate the BJP’s performance and hold the government accountable for its promises. “The Prime Minister only criticizes us and leaves. We clean the sewers of Delhi, and we will continue to do it. The people of Delhi will not tolerate this disrespect and will give their answer in the elections,” Kejriwal said.
