New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party national convenor and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal joined students from Delhi’s government schools on Sunday and showcased his dance moves at their request. The occasion was the “Lehar” programme, held at the CBT Center in Chanakyapuri. It featured students from Delhi’s Special School of Excellence. The programme highlights a blend of academics, music, art and performing arts. On Sunday, Arvind Kejriwal made a special appearance among the students.
When the former chief minister arrived, the students requested him to join them in a dance. Honouring their request, Kejriwal danced with them in a cheerful and playful manner. In the video, he can be seen dancing enthusiastically with the students
Atishi praises artistic talents
During the event, Delhi chief minister Atishi inaugurated the art exhibition and she praised the exceptional artistic talents of students from the city’s Schools of Specialised Excellence. She reflected on the remarkable transformation of Delhi’s government schools over the past decade. She said that these schools have evolved greatly, from lacking basic facilities like desks, drinking water and clean toilets, to now boasting performing and visual arts Schools of Specialised Excellence that produce world-class artists.
AAP announces scholarship for Dalit students
Recently, Kejriwal announced a new scholarship programme for Dalit students in Delhi on Saturday. Named the Dr Ambedkar Samman Scholarship, the initiative aims to fully fund higher education abroad for eligible Dalit students. Under this scheme, the Delhi government will cover all expenses, including tuition fees, travel costs and accommodation, for Dalit students who secure admission to foreign universities.
Kejriwal said the programme draws inspiration from Dr BR Ambedkar’s commitment to education as a tool for empowerment. He also reflected on Ambedkar’s journey, saying how he overcame huge problems to earn a PhD in the United States.
