Two new jungle safari routes in Uttarakhand’s Almora and Kaladhungi for tourists

Dehradun: Apart from Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR), the tourists will have options to go for Jungle safari in the biodiversity-rich Mohan range of Almora and Kaladhungi heritage zone of Ramnagar in Uttarakhand’s Kumaon region. The Mohan range, spread in an area of about 25 km, is adjacent to the Corbett national park.

In both the new tourism zones, wildlife such as tigers, elephants, leopards, and deer may be sighted, apart from the world of birds and butterflies. During their visit to Kaladhungi heritage zone, tourists will be able to know the history of famous hunter Jim Corbett.

Both safari zones were opened

For Safari, 20 gypsy vehicles will be available at Mohan. 30 gypsies will take tourists for safari from Kaladhungi. Both the new safari routes – Mohan range & Kaladhungi heritage zone- were opened by the forest department on Tuesday.

Forest minister flagged off gypsy vehicles

Uttarakhand’s forest minister Subodh Uniyal flagged off the gypsy vehicles. Speaking on this occasion, forest minister Subodh Uniyal said both zones have great potential for the future of eco-tourism. He also added that it will provide fresh opportunities for jobs for the locals, besides promoting tourism.

Safari for 23 km in Kaladhungi

The entry gate Kaladhungi heritage zone is made on Haldwani road near a bridge in Kaladhungi. In this zone, tourists can go for safari for a distance of 23 kilometers. The maximum charge for six tourists is fixed as rupees 1430. The 30 Gypsy vehicles will be available for Safari in this range in the morning as well as the evening shifts.

15 km safari in Mohan range of Almora

In Mohan range, the tourists will go for safari in an area of 15 km while the number of available Gypsy will be 30.

In the Corbett heritage safari zone, there is the presence of about 365 different species of birds. There is also a good presence of different species of butterflies in this zone. Kaladhungi tourism zone is also named as Jim Corbett Heritage Safari. Many memories of Corbett are associated with Kaladhungi.
