Shahjahanpur: A video from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, showing an entire family of eight people riding on a single motorcycle, has gone viral on social media. In the viral clip, the family was not only riding together on the bike but was also seen carrying heavy luggage, including quilts, mattresses, tents, and sticks.
The incident took place in the Mirzapur police station area, where traffic sub-inspector Dinesh Patel was conducting routine checks. Upon noticing the overloaded bike, he immediately stopped the rider.
What police said
Patel expressed shock at seeing eight people, including children, squeezed onto a single motorcycle. None of them, including the rider, was wearing a helmet.
The sub-inspector spoke to the driver about the importance of traffic safety and the risks involved in carrying so many passengers. He warned that a serious accident could have endangered the entire family’s lives.

Surprisingly, the police officer decided not to issue a fine. Instead, he let the family go with a strict warning not to repeat such a dangerous act.
A crowd gathered at the scene, with onlookers making light-hearted comments. One person humorously suggested that the rider should sell the bike and buy an auto-rickshaw instead. Many social media users have expressed surprise and disbelief at the disregard for traffic safety rules.
