Palamu: In a fiery election campaign speech, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ignited controversy in Jharkhand, claiming that “Jharkhand’s daughters are under threat due to ‘Love Jihad’” and asserted that only the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can provide a “befitting reply” to this perceived threat.

Adityanath, addressing a public gathering in Palamu, accused the ruling JMM-led coalition of facilitating “Love Jihad” and turning the state into a haven for Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators.

He further alleged that the JMM government has allowed “Rohingyas and Bangladeshi infiltrators” to infiltrate Jharkhand, contributing to a rise in anarchy and unrest.

His campaign rhetoric has focused on creating a sense of fear and insecurity, urging people to unite under the BJP banner to combat these perceived threats. “Batenge to katenge, ek rahenge to safe rahege (If divided, we will be wiped out, if united, we will remain safe),” he warned, emphasising the need for a unified front against the alleged dangers.

“Jharkhand has been converted into a ‘Dharamshala’ for Rohingyas and Bangladeshi infiltrators who have been given free rein to spread anarchy,” he claimed while addressing an election rally at Bhawnathpur in Garhwa.

Adityanath went on to accuse the JMM government of rampant corruption, anarchy, and the plunder of natural resources in Jharkhand. He alleged that three families, seemingly referring to the Soren family, Lalu Prasad’s family and the Gandhi family, have been engaged in personal enrichment at the expense of the state’s well-being.

He further claimed that the JMM government has created an environment where stone-pelting and mafia activities are rampant, hindering peaceful celebrations of festivals.

Addressing another rally in Hussainabad in Palamu district, Adityanath said, “Hussainabad should be renamed as ‘Ram Nagar’.” Elections to the 81-member Jharkhand assembly will be held on November 13 and 20, while the counting of votes polled will take place on November 23.
