Team of 55 armed personnel of CRPF for Pawar
A team of 55 armed personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force has been earmarked as part of Pawar’s security cover.
Pawar had previously expressed amusement over the security saying, “A Home Ministry official told me that the government has decided to give Z-plus security to three people and I am one of them. Elections are coming near, so this can be a means of getting authentic information about me.”
Maharashtra elections later this year
Elections to the 288-member Maharashtra assembly are likely to be held later this year.
The VIP security cover categorisations begin from the highest Z+ followed by Z, Y+, Y and X.
